Ingredients

  • Chinese broccoli - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Oyster sauce (vegetarian) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste
  • Water - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Wash and trim the Chinese broccoli, cutting off any tough stems and separating the leaves from the thicker stalks.
  2. In a large pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the thicker stalks of the Chinese broccoli to the pan first and stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
  5. Add the leaves and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and tender.
  6. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and water, stirring to combine and coat the vegetables.
  7. Drizzle the sesame oil over the broccoli, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat and serve hot.
