Ingredients

  • Bok Choy - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Soy Sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Red Pepper Flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black Pepper - to taste
  • Sesame Seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Wash the bok choy thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or grit, then drain and cut the bok choy in half lengthwise.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add the bok choy halves to the skillet, cut side down, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
  4. Flip the bok choy and add the soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to coat the bok choy evenly.
  5. Continue to sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until the bok choy is tender but still vibrant green.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then remove from heat.
  7. Plate the sautéed bok choy and sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish before serving.
