Ingredients

  • Long-grain rice - 150 grams
  • Frozen peas - 100 grams
  • Carrots - 1 medium (about 100 grams), diced
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Water - 300 milliliters

Steps

  1. Rinse the long-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 15 minutes.
  2. In a pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add diced carrots to the pot and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
  4. Stir in the peas and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot, stirring to combine with the vegetables.
  6. Pour in 300 milliliters of water, add soy sauce, salt, and black pepper, and bring to a boil.
  7. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
  8. Remove the pot from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
