- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Water - 300 milliliters
Steps
- Rinse the long-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 15 minutes.
- In a pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add diced carrots to the pot and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
- Stir in the peas and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot, stirring to combine with the vegetables.
- Pour in 300 milliliters of water, add soy sauce, salt, and black pepper, and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
- Remove the pot from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
