  • Granulated sugar - 30 grams
  • Warm water - 150 ml
  • Vegetable oil - 15 ml
  • Salt - 1 gram
  • Red bean paste - 100 grams

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt, then mix well.
  2. Gradually add the warm water and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces.
  6. Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten it into a disc. Place 25 grams of red bean paste in the center of each disc.
  7. Carefully fold the edges of the dough over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a bun.
  8. Place the buns seam-side down on a parchment-lined steamer tray, cover them with a cloth, and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
  9. Steam the buns over boiling water for 10-12 minutes, or until they are fluffy and cooked through.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy your homemade red bean buns!
