- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Warm water - 120 milliliters
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Salt - 3 grams
- Pumpkin puree - 100 grams
- Vegetable oil - 15 milliliters
- Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Ground ginger - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped walnuts (optional) - 30 grams
Steps
- In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- In a separate bowl, mix pumpkin puree, cinnamon, ginger, and chopped walnuts (if using) until well combined.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle.

- Arrange the buns on a steamer rack lined with parchment paper. Cover and let them rest for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Steam the buns for 15-20 minutes until fluffy and set. Serve warm.
