- All-purpose flour - 150 grams
- Cold water - 60 ml
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pumpkin puree - 200 grams
- Canned black beans - 100 grams, drained and rinsed
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - for frying
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add cold water, mixing until a dough forms. Knead briefly until smooth, then wrap in plastic wrap and let rest for 20 minutes.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a teaspoon of vegetable oil. Sauté the minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the pumpkin puree, black beans, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ground cumin, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well and cook for about 5 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Divide the rested dough into two equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Place half of the pumpkin and black bean filling on one half of each dough circle, leaving a border around the edges. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape, sealing the edges by pressing with a fork.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Carefully place the pies in the skillet and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the pies from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm.
