Ingredients
- Ground pork - 300 grams
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Water - 100 ml
- Spring onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce (Halal) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped spring onion, minced ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, salt, and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and set aside for 15 minutes to marinate.
- In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour with a pinch of salt. Gradually add water, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface to about 3mm thickness. Cut into circles using a cookie cutter or a cup, approximately 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a tablespoon of the pork filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
- Brush the tops of the dumplings with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Place the dumplings on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
