Ingredients
- Ground pork - 250 grams
- Green onions, finely chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic, minced - 1 clove
- Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce (kosher) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Dumpling wrappers - 20 pieces
- Water - for sealing and cooking
- Cornstarch - for dusting
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
- Take one dumpling wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the pork filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half to form a half-moon shape, and pinch the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Dust a large plate or tray with cornstarch to prevent sticking. Place the filled dumplings on the tray without touching each other.
- To cook, bring a pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the dumplings and cook for about 8-10 minutes or until they float to the surface and the filling is cooked through.
- Alternatively, for pan-fried dumplings, heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil, and place the dumplings in the skillet. Fry for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown, then add 1/4 cup of water, cover, and steam for an additional 5-7 minutes.
- Serve the dumplings hot with a dipping sauce made from soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil, if desired.
