Ingredients

  • Pork belly - 400 grams
  • Chives - 50 grams, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - 200 ml

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and salt to create a marinade.
  3. Score the skin of the pork belly in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.
  4. Place the pork belly in a baking dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it's well-coated.
  5. Add the water to the baking dish, covering the bottom, and cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake the pork belly in the preheated oven for 60 minutes.
  7. After 60 minutes, remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 220°C (428°F).
  8. Bake for an additional 20-30 minutes, until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  10. Serve the pork belly slices topped with chopped chives.
