Ingredients

  • Pork belly - 400 grams
  • Savoy cabbage - 200 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 inch, minced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cut the pork belly into 2cm pieces and season with salt, black pepper, and half of the minced garlic and ginger.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the pork belly pieces until golden brown on all sides, about 5-6 minutes.
  4. In a baking dish, arrange the seared pork belly pieces.
  5. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, remaining garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Pour the sauce over the pork belly, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  7. Chop the savoy cabbage into large chunks and place it around the pork belly in the baking dish.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the pork is crispy.
  9. Once cooked, garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
