Ingredients

  • Pork belly - 250 grams, cut into thin strips
  • Bell pepper (red or green) - 1 medium, sliced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Broccoli florets - 100 grams
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 50 ml
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons for frying

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the pork belly strips, soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated pork belly and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced bell pepper, carrot, and broccoli to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  5. Return the cooked pork belly to the skillet, along with the chopped green onions and water. Drizzle with sesame oil and stir everything together. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and more soy sauce if needed. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
