- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Chicken broth - 500 milliliters (Halal)
- Mushrooms (shiitake or button) - 100 grams, sliced
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Red chili (optional) - 1, sliced
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)
Steps
- In a medium pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped ginger, sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Add the sliced pork to the pot and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Pour in the chicken broth and soy sauce, bringing the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes until they are tender.
- Stir in the fresh spinach and cook until wilted, about 2 minutes.
- Add the cornstarch mixture to the pot, stirring continuously until the broth thickens slightly.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If desired, add sliced red chili for heat.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
