Ingredients

  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Chicken broth - 500 milliliters (Halal)
  • Mushrooms (shiitake or button) - 100 grams, sliced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Red chili (optional) - 1, sliced
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)

Steps

  1. In a medium pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped ginger, sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  2. Add the sliced pork to the pot and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and soy sauce, bringing the mixture to a gentle boil.
  4. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes until they are tender.
  5. Stir in the fresh spinach and cook until wilted, about 2 minutes.
  6. Add the cornstarch mixture to the pot, stirring continuously until the broth thickens slightly.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If desired, add sliced red chili for heat.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
