- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Peanut butter - 2 tablespoons
- Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat slider buns - 2
- Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Carrot - 1 small, shredded
- Red cabbage - 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
- Fresh cilantro - a handful, chopped
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1 cm thick slices.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, peanut butter, maple syrup, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to create a marinade.
- Marinate the tofu slices in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated tofu slices for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- While the tofu is cooking, prepare the slider toppings by slicing the cucumber, shredding the carrot, and thinly slicing the red cabbage.
- Once the tofu is cooked, assemble the sliders by placing a slice of tofu on each bun and topping it with cucumber, carrot, red cabbage, and fresh cilantro.
- Drizzle lime juice over the toppings, close the buns, and serve immediately.
