- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground chicken - 150 grams
- Chopped green onions - 30 grams
- Minced garlic - 1 clove
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce (kosher) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon (for dusting)
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the ground chicken, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper until well combined.
- Divide the rested dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle (about 10 cm in diameter) on a floured surface.
- Place about 1 tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly. You can also crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the dumplings and fry for about 3-4 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add 100 ml of water to the skillet, cover, and steam the dumplings for 8-10 minutes until cooked through. Remove the lid and let any remaining water evaporate for a minute.
- Serve hot with additional soy sauce or dipping sauce of your choice.
