  • Shaoxing wine - 30 ml
  • Ginger - 20 grams, sliced
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Star anise - 2 pieces
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced ginger and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
