Ingredients
- Ground beef (lean) - 250 grams
- Scallions - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Whole wheat flour - 120 grams
- Yeast - 1 teaspoon
- Warm water - 80 ml
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Cilantro - a handful, chopped
- Lettuce leaves - 2 pieces
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water and let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix the whole wheat flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine ground beef, scallions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well and shape into two patties.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat.
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into two equal portions and roll each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a disk about 1 cm thick.
- Steam the dough disks in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper for about 10-12 minutes until fluffy.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a beef patty on each steamed bun, adding cucumber slices, cilantro, and a lettuce leaf on top. Serve immediately.
