- Glutinous rice flour - 200 grams
- Water - 150 ml
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Shiitake mushrooms - 50 grams, sliced
- Baby bok choy - 100 grams, chopped
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour and water to form a smooth batter. Pour the batter into a greased steaming dish.
- Steam the batter in a steamer over medium heat for 20 minutes, or until set. Let it cool before cutting into pieces.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the julienned carrot and sliced shiitake mushrooms. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Add the chopped baby bok choy and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
- Cut the steamed rice cake into bite-sized pieces and add them to the pan. Drizzle with soy sauce and sesame oil.
- Stir-fry everything together for another 3-4 minutes, ensuring the rice cake is heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
