Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 200 grams, thinly sliced
  • Eggs - 2 large, beaten
  • Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Cabbage - 100 grams, shredded
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons (ensure it's kosher)
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Moo Shu pancakes - 4 pieces

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining vegetable oil. Sauté garlic and shiitake mushrooms for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the julienned carrot and shredded cabbage to the skillet, stir-frying for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and pour the beaten eggs into the empty side. Scramble the eggs until fully cooked, then mix with the vegetables.
  6. Return the cooked beef to the skillet, add sesame oil, and chopped green onions. Stir everything together and cook for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  7. Warm the Moo Shu pancakes according to package instructions. Serve the beef and vegetable mixture wrapped in the pancakes.
