Ingredients
- Chicken breast - 300 grams, sliced
- Soy sauce (low sodium) - 4 tablespoons
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Bell pepper (red or green) - 1 medium, sliced
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until it's golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced bell pepper and julienned carrot to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. In a small bowl, mix the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetables.
- Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
