Ingredients
- Beef flank steak - 250 grams, thinly sliced against the grain
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Green onions - 3, chopped (white and green parts separated)
- Red bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Broccoli florets - 100 grams
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef to the pan in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned, then remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Stir-fry the minced garlic, minced ginger, and the white parts of the chopped green onions for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the red bell pepper and broccoli florets to the pan and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
- Return the beef to the pan and mix well with the vegetables, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and add the green parts of the green onions. Toss everything together and season with black pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and serve hot, ideally over steamed rice or noodles.
