  • Oyster sauce - 30 ml
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon (15 grams)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Red bell pepper - 1, sliced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Cooked jasmine rice - 300 grams
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon (8 grams)
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons (30 ml)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in batches, searing until browned on all sides (about 3-4 minutes). Remove the beef and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil, then add the sliced bell pepper and julienned carrot. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet, add sesame oil, and mix well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  5. Serve the beef mixture over a bed of jasmine rice and garnish with chopped green onions. Season with black pepper to taste.
