Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - a handful, chopped
  • Cucumber - 1 small, julienned
  • Carrot - 1 small, julienned

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while stirring until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into two equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle, about 5 mm thick.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook each pancake for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the remaining vegetable oil and sauté the chopped green onions for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce and sesame oil together to create the dipping sauce.
  7. To serve, place the pancakes on a plate, top with sautéed green onions, fresh cilantro, cucumber, and carrot. Drizzle with the soy sauce mixture.
  8. Enjoy your Mian Wo warm!
