Ingredients
- Wheat noodles - 200 grams
- Ground halal chicken - 150 grams
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
- Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Egg - 1 large, beaten
- Cheddar cheese - 50 grams, grated (optional)
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cook the wheat noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add the ground halal chicken to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Stir in the julienned carrot and diced bell pepper, cooking for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
- In a bowl, combine the cooked noodles, chicken and vegetable mixture, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and the beaten egg. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
- Transfer the noodle mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. If using, sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and the top is lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions.
