Ingredients

  • Wheat noodles - 200 grams
  • Ground halal chicken - 150 grams
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 large, beaten
  • Cheddar cheese - 50 grams, grated (optional)
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cook the wheat noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground halal chicken to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  5. Stir in the julienned carrot and diced bell pepper, cooking for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
  6. In a bowl, combine the cooked noodles, chicken and vegetable mixture, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and the beaten egg. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
  7. Transfer the noodle mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. If using, sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and the top is lightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions.
