Ingredients
- Sticky rice - 150 grams
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Ripe mango - 1 medium (approximately 200 grams)
- Sesame seeds (optional) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 30 minutes.
- Drain the soaked rice and steam it in a bamboo or metal steamer lined with cheesecloth for about 20-25 minutes until tender.
- While the rice is steaming, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, then remove from heat.
- Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a mixing bowl and pour about 150 ml of the coconut sauce over it. Stir gently to combine and let it sit for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Peel and slice the ripe mango into thin strips.
- To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, top with mango slices, and drizzle with the remaining coconut sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
