- Firm tofu - 150 grams
- Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams
- Bok choy - 100 grams
- Chinese cabbage - 100 grams
- Mala hot pot base - 100 grams
- Chicken broth - 1 liter
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Chili oil - 1 tablespoon
- Spring onions - 2, chopped
- Cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- In a large pot, combine the chicken broth, mala hot pot base, minced garlic, grated ginger, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- While the broth is heating, slice the beef and chicken into thin pieces and cube the firm tofu.
- Once the broth is simmering, add the sliced meats and tofu to the pot. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the meats are fully cooked.
- Add the shiitake mushrooms, bok choy, and Chinese cabbage to the pot. Let cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the chili oil and sesame oil for added flavor.
- Serve the hot pot directly from the pot, garnished with chopped spring onions and cilantro. Enjoy with a side of rice or noodles if desired.
