  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Chili oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Sichuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Coriander leaves - a handful (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1.5 cm thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, chili oil, Sichuan peppercorns, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, and sesame oil to make the marinade.
  3. Add the tofu slices to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove tofu from the marinade and place the slices on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the tofu is heated through.
