Ingredients
- Daikon radish - 300 grams
- Rice flour - 150 grams
- Water - 200 milliliters
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- White pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
- Dried shrimp (optional, ensure Halal) - 50 grams
Steps
- Peel and grate the daikon radish into a bowl.
- Sprinkle the grated radish with salt and let it sit for about 15 minutes to draw out excess moisture.
- In a separate bowl, mix the rice flour, water, white pepper, and vegetable oil until smooth.
- After 15 minutes, squeeze the grated radish to remove excess liquid and add it to the rice flour mixture, stirring well.
- Fold in the chopped green onions and dried shrimp if using.
- Grease a steaming dish or cake pan with oil and pour the mixture into it, spreading it evenly.
- Prepare a steamer and bring water to a boil. Place the dish in the steamer and steam for about 30-35 minutes until the cake is firm.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing into pieces and serving. Optionally, pan-fry the slices until golden brown on both sides.
