Ingredients

  • Daikon radish - 300 grams
  • Rice flour - 150 grams
  • Water - 200 milliliters
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • White pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
  • Dried shrimp (optional, ensure Halal) - 50 grams

Steps

  1. Peel and grate the daikon radish into a bowl.
  2. Sprinkle the grated radish with salt and let it sit for about 15 minutes to draw out excess moisture.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the rice flour, water, white pepper, and vegetable oil until smooth.
  4. After 15 minutes, squeeze the grated radish to remove excess liquid and add it to the rice flour mixture, stirring well.
  5. Fold in the chopped green onions and dried shrimp if using.
  6. Grease a steaming dish or cake pan with oil and pour the mixture into it, spreading it evenly.
  7. Prepare a steamer and bring water to a boil. Place the dish in the steamer and steam for about 30-35 minutes until the cake is firm.
  8. Let it cool slightly before slicing into pieces and serving. Optionally, pan-fry the slices until golden brown on both sides.
