Ingredients

  • Seitan - 200 grams
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine lemon juice, lemon zest, black pepper, garlic powder, soy sauce, and maple syrup to create the marinade.
  2. Add the seitan to the marinade, ensuring it's well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  4. Remove the seitan from the marinade and reserve the marinade for later. Add the seitan to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown.
  5. Pour the reserved marinade over the cooked seitan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Remove from heat, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
