- Lamb shoulder - 300 grams, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Shaoxing wine - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Honey - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Bell pepper - 1 medium, cut into 2.5 cm squares (optional)
- Wooden skewers - 4, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Steps
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, minced garlic, minced ginger, five-spice powder, honey, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Add the lamb cubes to the marinade and mix well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated lamb onto the soaked skewers, alternating with pieces of bell pepper if using.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
- Remove from the grill and sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
