Ingredients
- Lamb shoulder - 300 grams, cut into small cubes
- Egg noodles - 200 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Onion - 1 medium, sliced
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Chinese cabbage - 100 grams, chopped
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Star anise - 2 pieces
- Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
- Water - 1.5 liters
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped for garnish
Steps
- In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add the sliced onion and lamb cubes to the pot, cooking until the lamb is browned on all sides.
- Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Add star anise, cinnamon stick, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, add the julienned carrot and chopped Chinese cabbage, continuing to simmer for another 10 minutes.
- While the vegetables are cooking, prepare the egg noodles according to the package instructions and drain them.
- To serve, place a portion of the cooked noodles in a bowl, ladle the hot lamb soup over the noodles, and garnish with chopped green onions.
