Ingredients
- Lamb shoulder - 300 grams, diced into 2.5 cm cubes
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Shaoxing wine - 15 ml
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Spring onion - 1, chopped for garnish
- Vegetable oil - for grilling
- Wooden skewers - 4, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, minced garlic, grated ginger, five-spice powder, chili flakes, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Add the diced lamb to the marinade, mix well, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush it lightly with vegetable oil.
- Thread the marinated lamb pieces onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Grill the skewers for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until the lamb is cooked to your liking and charred slightly.
- Remove from the grill and let rest for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauce.
