Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Ground lamb - 200 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture, and knead until a smooth dough forms, about 10 minutes. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and sauté the onions until translucent. Add garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional minute.
- Add ground lamb to the skillet, breaking it apart. Cook until browned. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and mix in chopped green onions and cilantro. Allow the filling to cool.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the lamb filling in the center of each circle. Gather the edges and pinch to seal, forming a bun.
- Place the buns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the buns for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
