Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Soy sauce (or coconut aminos) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Sliced cucumber - 50 grams
  • Sliced avocado - 50 grams
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, minced garlic, grated ginger, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, red chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 patties of equal size.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil if necessary. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the lettuce wraps by washing and drying the romaine leaves.
  5. Once cooked, assemble the burgers by placing a patty on a lettuce leaf, topping it with sliced cucumber and avocado.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve immediately.
