The Keto Szechuan Burger combines the bold, spicy flavors of Szechuan cuisine with a low-carb burger twist. This dish features juicy beef patties infused with Szechuan spices, served without a bun but with fresh, crunchy toppings for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients
- Ground beef - 300 grams
- Szechuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Cucumber - 50 grams, thinly sliced
- Radishes - 50 grams, thinly sliced
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Cilantro - a handful, chopped
- Szechuan chili oil - 1 tablespoon (optional for extra heat)
Steps
- In a small pan, toast the Szechuan peppercorns over medium heat until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and grind them into a fine powder.
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, ground Szechuan peppercorns, garlic powder, ginger powder, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare your toppings by slicing the cucumber and radishes, and chopping the green onions and cilantro.
- Once the patties are done, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- To assemble, place each beef patty on a large romaine lettuce leaf, top with cucumber, radishes, green onions, and cilantro. Drizzle with Szechuan chili oil if desired.
- Wrap the lettuce around the filling like a burger and enjoy!
