Ingredients
- Ground pork - 250 grams
- Almond flour - 100 grams
- Pork broth - 100 milliliters
- Egg - 1 large
- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons for frying
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix almond flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Add the egg and pork broth, and mix until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and flatten each portion into a small disc.
- Place a spoonful of the pork filling in the center of each disc, then carefully fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a bun.
- Heat coconut oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the buns seam side down in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add a splash of water (about 30 ml) to the skillet and cover immediately to steam the buns for about 8-10 minutes until cooked through.
- Remove the lid and let the buns cook for an additional 2 minutes to crisp the bottoms before serving.
