Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 200 grams
  • Ground pork - 150 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Doubanjiang (spicy bean paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large leaves (for wrapping)
  • Coconut aminos - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Pork rinds - 30 grams, crushed (for binding)

Steps

  1. Press the firm tofu to remove excess moisture, then crumble it into small pieces.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground pork and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, stirring for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the crumbled tofu, doubanjiang, soy sauce, sesame oil, coconut aminos, black pepper, and salt. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Stir in the beaten egg and crushed pork rinds to help bind the mixture together.
  6. Form the mixture into two burger patties.
  7. In the same skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Serve the patties wrapped in lettuce leaves, topped with chopped green onions.
