  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Doubanjiang (spicy bean paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon

  • Chicken broth - 100 ml
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon (optional for thickening)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Start by pressing the firm tofu to remove excess water. Cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a pan over medium heat, add the ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  3. Add minced garlic and ginger to the pan, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the doubanjiang and soy sauce, mixing well with the pork.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  6. Carefully add the tofu cubes to the pan, gently stirring to coat the tofu with the sauce.
  7. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  8. If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry and stir it into the pan to thicken the sauce.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  10. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
