- Soy sauce (or coconut aminos) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Erythritol or another keto-friendly sweetener - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Collagen casing or parchment paper for wrapping - as needed
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, pork fat, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, five-spice powder, erythritol, black pepper, and salt. Mix until fully combined.
- If using collagen casing, rinse it under cold water and soak for 10 minutes. If using parchment paper, cut it into strips suitable for wrapping.
- Stuff the mixture into the collagen casing or shape into logs and wrap tightly in parchment paper, ensuring there are no air pockets.
- Place the wrapped sausages in a steamer basket and steam over boiling water for 30 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Remove the sausages from the steamer and let them cool slightly. If desired, you can slice them and pan-fry in a little oil until crispy before serving.
