- Pork shoulder - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar-free hoisin sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
- Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar-free hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, five-spice powder, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Cut the pork shoulder into thick strips and marinate in the sauce for at least 30 minutes, preferably refrigerated for a few hours.
- Place the marinated pork on a baking sheet and roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until fully cooked and slightly caramelized, turning halfway through.
- Remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing into thin pieces.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the sliced Char Siu pork on a large romaine lettuce leaf, topped with cucumber slices and chopped green onion.
- Wrap the lettuce around the filling to create a burger and serve immediately.
