Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Shredded cabbage - 100 grams
  • Shiitake mushrooms - 50 grams, sliced
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 2, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 4 large
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Red chili flakes - optional, to taste

Steps

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add sesame oil and sauté minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the sliced shiitake mushrooms and shredded cabbage, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
  4. Add soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes (if using) to the skillet, mixing well to combine.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and pour them into the skillet, stirring gently to scramble them in with the beef and vegetables until fully cooked, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in sliced green onions.
  7. To serve, spoon the mixture into large lettuce leaves, wrapping them like a burrito.
