Ingredients

  • Wheat dumpling wrappers - 10 pieces
  • Ground halal beef - 150 grams
  • Chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
  • Grated ginger - 1 teaspoon
  • Minced garlic - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Chicken or vegetable broth - 500 milliliters
  • Chopped bok choy - 100 grams
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Chili oil - for serving (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped green onions, grated ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Place about 1 tablespoon of the beef mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half and pinch the edges to seal, creating a dumpling. Repeat until all wrappers are filled.
  3. In a large pot, bring the chicken or vegetable broth to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  4. Carefully add the dumplings to the pot and cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until the dumplings float to the surface and are cooked through.
  5. Add the chopped bok choy to the pot and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until wilted.
  6. Taste the broth and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper as needed.
  7. Serve hot in bowls, with a drizzle of chili oil if desired.
