Ingredients

  • Dumpling wrappers - 20 pieces
  • Ground chicken - 200 grams
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Shiitake mushrooms - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Carrot - 1 small, grated
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 1/4 cup
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine ground chicken, green onions, shiitake mushrooms, carrot, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Take a dumpling wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over the filling, and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
  3. Repeat the process until all filling is used, placing the finished dumplings on a plate.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, arrange the dumplings in the skillet, flat side down, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  5. Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet, cover immediately with a lid, and let steam for about 5-7 minutes until the water has evaporated.
  6. Remove the lid and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the bottom is crispy again. Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
