Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Tofu (firm) - 150 grams
- Cabbage (finely chopped) - 100 grams
- Carrot (grated) - 50 grams
- Green onions (chopped) - 30 grams
- Soy sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil (for frying) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water, knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, crumble the tofu and mix in the chopped cabbage, grated carrot, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
- Divide the dough into small balls (about 20 grams each) and roll each ball into a thin circle (about 10 cm in diameter).
- Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle, fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape, and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Arrange the dumplings in the pan and fry for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add 100 ml of water to the pan, cover, and steam the dumplings for 5-7 minutes, or until the water has evaporated.
- Remove the lid and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to crisp the bottom again. Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
