Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Tofu (firm) - 150 grams
  • Cabbage (finely chopped) - 100 grams
  • Carrot (grated) - 50 grams
  • Green onions (chopped) - 30 grams
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water, knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, crumble the tofu and mix in the chopped cabbage, grated carrot, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls (about 20 grams each) and roll each ball into a thin circle (about 10 cm in diameter).
  4. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle, fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape, and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Arrange the dumplings in the pan and fry for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
  6. Add 100 ml of water to the pan, cover, and steam the dumplings for 5-7 minutes, or until the water has evaporated.
  7. Remove the lid and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to crisp the bottom again. Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
