Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 100 milliliters
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Firm tofu - 150 grams, crumbled
  • Carrot - 1 medium, finely grated
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Cabbage - 100 grams, finely chopped
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add warm water while mixing until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add crumbled tofu, grated carrot, chopped green onions, and cabbage to the pan. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. Divide the rested dough into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle about 10 cm in diameter.
  6. Place a spoonful of the filling mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal, creating a bun shape.
  7. Arrange the buns in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper. Steam over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with additional soy sauce or chili sauce for dipping.
