Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Ground chicken - 150 grams
  • Cabbage - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil - for frying
  • Dipping sauce (soy sauce and vinegar mix) - to serve

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and water to form a dough. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix the ground chicken, chopped cabbage, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. After the dough has rested, divide it into small balls (about 20 grams each). Roll each ball into a thin circle (about 10 cm in diameter).
  4. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal tightly, creating a crescent shape.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little cooking oil. Arrange the dumplings in a single layer in the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
  6. Add 100 ml of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Let the dumplings steam for about 5-7 minutes until the water has evaporated.
  7. Remove the lid and cook for an additional 2 minutes to crisp up the bottoms again. Serve hot with dipping sauce.
