- Ground pork - 300 grams
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Coconut aminos - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Butter lettuce leaves - 8 large
- Cucumber - 1, thinly sliced
- Carrot - 1, julienned
- Fresh cilantro - a handful, for garnish
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, coconut aminos, sesame oil, red chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Form the pork mixture into 4 equal patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of oil. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and browned.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the lettuce wraps by washing and drying the butter lettuce leaves.
- To assemble, place a pork patty in the center of each lettuce leaf. Top with cucumber slices, julienned carrot, and fresh cilantro.
- Serve immediately while the patties are warm, allowing everyone to wrap their own Huo Guo Bao.
