- Beef sirloin - 250 grams, thinly sliced
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 inch, minced
- Scallions - 2, chopped
- Hunan chili paste - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef with cornstarch, soy sauce, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil. Once hot, add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add minced garlic, ginger, and scallions. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced red and green bell peppers and julienned carrot to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the pan and add Hunan chili paste, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and water. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt if necessary. Serve hot with steamed rice or quinoa.
