- Beef sirloin - 250 grams, thinly sliced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Hunan chili paste - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, marinate the sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef to the pan and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil, then stir in the garlic, ginger, and Hunan chili paste. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced red and green bell peppers, and carrot to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the pan, add sugar, and mix well for another 2 minutes.
- Drizzle with sesame oil, add black pepper to taste, and toss in chopped green onions before serving.
