Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 250 grams, thinly sliced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Green bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Hunan chili paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, marinate the sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the marinated beef to the pan and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil, then stir in the garlic, ginger, and Hunan chili paste. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced red and green bell peppers, and carrot to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return the cooked beef to the pan, add sugar, and mix well for another 2 minutes.
  7. Drizzle with sesame oil, add black pepper to taste, and toss in chopped green onions before serving.
