Ingredients
- Cauliflower - 1 medium head, cut into florets
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 inch, minced
- Hunan chili paste - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
- Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, for garnish
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large bowl, toss the cauliflower florets with olive oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well-coated.
- Spread the cauliflower evenly on a baking sheet and roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and tender.
- While the cauliflower is roasting, prepare the BBQ sauce by combining Hunan chili paste, soy sauce, maple syrup, and rice vinegar in a small bowl. Mix well.
- Once the cauliflower is done roasting, remove it from the oven and drizzle the prepared BBQ sauce over the top. Toss to coat evenly.
- Return the cauliflower to the oven and roast for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, then serve immediately.
