Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 250 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce (or coconut aminos) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 teaspoon
  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Lettuce leaves (e.g., butter or romaine) - 4 large leaves
  • Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Carrot - 1 small, julienned
  • Cilantro - a handful, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), sesame oil, rice vinegar, and honey to create a marinade.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into thin fillets and add them to the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the chicken marinates, prepare the vegetables: wash and dry the lettuce leaves, slice the cucumber, and julienne the carrot.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken fillets and cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  5. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into strips.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place a few strips of chicken on each lettuce leaf, top with cucumber, carrot, chopped green onions, and cilantro. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  7. Wrap the lettuce around the filling to form a burger and serve immediately.
